For the first time EVER at UCB, we're staging a student performance of a Euripides Greek Tragedy in the Original Ancient Greek, aimed for the Greek Theater.

This class will introduce Greek Tragedy, and as a collective we will decide between Hippolytus, Electra, and Ion.

We will then discuss staging techniques and create the most efficient plan for a performance in the Spring of 2009.

We would like members who are committed to the entire process, however, if acting/ dancing/ singing is not your cup of tea, we encourage all who are interested to help plan the experience.

Knowing Greek is not a pre-requisite.  We will teach you everything you need to know.  And that doesn't mean you'll have to learn a whole new language, either :)

Enrollment Info:

We will begin meeting August 28 and continue TuTh 6-7:30. If this time is inconvenient, we will find a time more suitable to the majority.  We really encourage participation, so if you're interested but not sure if it fits with your schedule, we can figure something out.

Come to the first day of class for the CCN.  If you're going to Burning Man and will not be able to make it to the first class but some thread of curiosity gnaws at you, please contact either facilitator, and show up the next Tuesday.

More information to come, and please do not hesitate to contact either Facilitator for questions/ comments/ concerns.
