Olly, olly oxen free!
The search is over. For all you young at heart, it’s safe to come out now.
BookWorlds: The Quest for Innocence invites you to join our class as we ponder various short stories, novels, and movies that reflect our childhood and the innocence we once had. During the semester we will read several books (including but not limited to Peter Pan by J. M. Barrie, The Giver by Lois Lowry, Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle, and Bridge to Terabithia by Katherine Paterson) short stories (Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein) and a few short articles. With each story we will encounter various ways that innocence was lost, taken, or forgotten. This is a discussion based class that relies on your thoughts and impressions regarding the loss of childhood innocence as themed throughout the materials. The book list is subject to change so please don’t buy any of the books ahead of time.
Tag, you’re it.
*EDIT* Due to an overwhelming interest in this class we are not putting anymore names on our list of people to be admitted in this class. Sorry to all those who didn't make it in time! Good luck!
