The Craft of Facilitating provides current and potential undergraduate course facilitators a creative and challenging environment to explore how they design and facilitate a course.
In the Craft of Facilitating, students
- learn course design.
- learn how to write a syllabus.
- learn different ways to promote engagement and participation.
- practice facilitation skills by preparing and piloting lessons.
- provide and receive honest, supportive, constructive feedback.
The Craft of Facilitating is a semester-long, 2-unit course for Pass/No Pass credit. Students concurrently facilitating a course are eligible to receive an additional unit and take the course for 3 units. The course counts towards the Ed Minor Field Studies requirement and has no prerequisites.
The Craft of Facilitating is offered through the Undergraduate Course Facilitator Training and Resources (UCFTR) Office in the Student Learning Center (SLC).

If you are interested in the course or have any questions, e-mail George Alonzo in the UCFTR office at UCFTR@berkeley.edu or come to the first day of class.
The first day of class will be held Wednesday, January 23rd in Chavez 201C (on the second floor of the Student Learning Center). Please arrive promptly by 3:10.
To keep the class size small, space in the class will be limited. Priority will be given to those contacting the UCFTR office and expressing interest in the course before the first day of class.
