About the Course:

This course is an introduction to the history of the Asian Pacific Islander label and the issues surrounding its existence as an over-generalized term.  It will provide a comparative analysis of their histories within mainstream America.  The course will also include discussions on the experience and development of the different API groups in the U.S. as well as organizations here on campus.  Classes will be taught by lecture and supported by group discussions, in-class activities, supplemental readings, and film.
