About the Course:

"Bond, James Bond." Those words are synonymous with a suave, daring, smart, and larger-than-life figure that has come to be a defining part of pop culture since the release of Dr. No in 1962. This course will simultaneously blend film showings with their literary inspirations to examine how the Bond franchise has mirrored world events, set trends in pop culture, and ultimately be able to form an opinion as to why James Bond has retained his popularity to this very day.

How to Enroll:

Enrollment is limited to 30 students, split between 15 upper and 15 lower divisions. Please e-mail for a CCN and specify whether you need upper or lower division and make sure you've read the syllabus so you know what you're signing up for here. If you have any questions, or just care to chat, do not hesitate to e-mail as well!

Students will be required to find their own copies of Casino Royale, Thunderball, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, and Live and Let Die.

The wait lists will be processed automatically on a first come, first served basis. Students whether enrolled or on the wait list should show up the this first class meeting if they wish to keep their seat. Anyone who really wants to take this course should enroll on the wait list regardless of position and come to the first day of class. We will make every effort to get dedicated students into the course, but make no guarantees.

Sections are beginning to fill up. However, we are going to continue enrolling onto a wait list. We have every intention to expand the size of this class to 40 students (and request a larger room to hold everyone). Therefore, please enroll on the wait list if you would like to take this course rather than not get on it. This will put you in line for a seat as enrollment fluctuates. The more people on our wait list, the easier it will be for us to get a new room as well, so being on the wait list helps everyone!

The room is subject to change. First day of class is January 30, 2008.
