It's Downstage Left's 3rd semester!!! Meaning: I ALMOST know what I'm talking about!!!! Woot...

Here's the formal jargon:

Class meets once a week for two hours where we'll have group discussions about famous sketches and we'll employ their techniques into writing our own original scenes. Every student writes their own sketch and will act in at least two other scenes. We will have a live performance at the end of the semester.

In a nutshell:

• we do contemporary, edgy, and most of all, funny sketch comedy 
• No writing or acting experience? No problem!
• Lots of acting and writing experience? I love you.
• We're going to have fun.

You're going to learn how to write. You'll learn a lot about comic timing. My goal for you: You'll be the comedy god at your next party.

Class is scheduled to meet THURSDAY 4-6.

Enrollment Info:

Auditions will be held during the second week of class.

Because of the general growing interest of the course, an audition sign-up sheet will be placed in the Dwinelle Annex early next smester (first day or two).

For the audition, please bring me a one minute comedic monologue. Don't be worried about it - I just want to see what sort of comic timing you bring to the table. (I am the EASIEST person in the world to make laugh. I laugh at everything.)

For the monolgue, DO NOT BRING ME SHAKESPEARE.
