About the Course:

The DE-Cal will be structured as an introductory journalism course aimed at providing students practical experience to understand journalistic principles. The students will be introduced to news, sports and arts reporting, as well as photography, design and copy editing. The students will also learn about libel and copyright issues and will be introduced to new frontiers in journalism, with blogs and other online media content. The course will be open to all students on campus, but will also serve as the training for new Daily Cal editorial staffers.

How to Enroll:

Enrollment is restricted by Course Entry Codes. Priority is given to new Fall 2007 hires of The Daily Californian, but enrollment is open to all students. Questions about enrollment can be directed to development@dailycal.org.

Attend the first class session on September 19th to obtain a Course Entry Code. New hires at the Daily Cal can request the CEC after being hired.
