About the Course:

Pioneers in Engineering (PiE) is a nonprofit student organization aimed at lowering the barrier of entry to robotics competition for underprivileged high school students.

Participants in the DeCal will be trained in game analysis, mentorship, and the mechanical, electrical, and programming aspects of the robotics kit.

Participants will then take this knowledge with them as they mentor local, disadvantaged high school students in a 7 week long season to build a robot to compete in the annual PiE competition, which will take place at the Lawrence Hall of Science on 4/14/2012

Participants in the DeCal will be expected to mentor their high school teams for two hours a week, in addition to writing a brief one paragraph summary of their visit.

** NO ROBOTICS EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! **

How to Enroll:

If you are not 100% sure that you want to enroll now, then please attend our DeCal infosession which will be held 1/26/12 at 306 Soda at 7pm. Here, you can mingle with staff and past mentors so you can learn more!

Enrollment will be granted to students that attend the first two sessions of the DeCal. Please be sure to attend the DeCal punctually so that you won't be dropped from the course!

**The first two sessions of the DeCal will be on 1/30/2012 and 2/6/2012**
